Artistic Director Brian
Fauth will be running a two-week workshop in January, exploring the
story and themes of William Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.
Learn the ins and outs of iambic pentameter, mistaken identities, and why
Bill Shakes still matters today. Participants will also assist
in the development of a new production of this play for possible inclusion
in our summer 2011 season.
Location: Grande Park Elementary
Days: January 18, 20, 25, 27
Time: 5:00 - 8:00 PM
Fee: $29.00
Ages: Grades 6 and up.
A Note From Fauth: Hey, so we're starting to get a lot of interest in doing Shakespeare this summer, so this two-week workshop is a great way to get to know how Shakespeare works. We're gonna look at past Limelight/Shakespeare productions, different adaptations of Twelfth Night, and then decide what OUR version will look like.
Even if you've never done Shakespeare, or aren't quite sure if you want to be a part of the show this summer, this workshop will be a great way to get your feet wet and get an idea of where we're going. Past Fauthy workshops helped create Heroes and Villains, An Awfully Big Adventure, and All These Will Be Worthless, so this should be a pretty fun two weeks. Plus, learn the secrets of the Brile! (Hint: it involves Cheez-Its.)
Whether you're a newbie junior high kid, an experienced high schooler (or collegian), or even an adult looking to be creative, I'm happy to include any and all that are interested in being a part of this production. Sign up now, and someday you'll be able to say, "Yeah, I helped create that."
